Who is TidBitsAR?

Updated: Oct 26, 2022

Hello, welcome to my blog!

In this comfort zone you are going to find all kind of weird things but buckle in because we are all about variety! sometimes that can come with a heaping plate of sadness, joy, laughter, and even some learning adventures because..well...life can be a beautiful and crazy thing. Don't be surprised if you see the good with the bad because in these blogs we are going to keep it real.

With that being said, my name is Amanda! this is my first time blogging so take it easy on me.

I am a wife/mother and just like everyone else in this world I am just trying to raise my kids right and find what makes me happy. I am obsessed with animals and I have 2 awesome dogs, don’t be surprised to see them everywhere because they are awesome!

I grew up in a small town in Alabama and have 7 siblings total, some of those are step or half, but does that really matter when you’re family? We have lost 2 brothers and a sister as of the year 2022, the pain of losing someone so close really changes a person, or at least it has in my pesonal life, and it can put you on a new path you didn’t know you needed. The year 2021 was life changing for me, I lost my brother, the only full blooded sibling that has been there with me through it all. His death was very tragic for me and caused mad depression and crippling anxiety but saved me at the same time…how is that possible? Life is bizarre and can humble you in many ways.

I was a late bloomer when it came to knowing what I wanted to be when I grew up, choosing a profession in life is hard and the events that are held in school to help you decide were no help. They pushed typical jobs such as being a doctor, lawyer, teacher, or joining the army, all of which were amazing jobs but they we not for me. I became a waitress the day I turned 16 and that seemed to be my path, or at least I was good at it, and loved to serve good food. I graduated high school and became a mom almost instantly so I never had the chance to really explore career options or opportunities. I wanted to be many things but settled on getting a business degree because if nothing else, I wanted to be my own boss and to create a place that was different. Crafting has always been in my heart but I was never given the chance to explore it until I was an adult with children of my own and even then it was a struggle finding what made me happy. Never be embarrassed to admit that you still don’t know what you want in life, eventually it will click and you will find where you belong, until then just settle in and live life day by day, I have found it’s easier to focus that way.

Shortly after my kids were born we moved to Florida, that was a whole life experience on it’s own, but it is where I began to grow as a young wife and mother and it played a large part in how I became who I am today, but, we will get into that another day. In 2018 we moved back to Alabama and that is where TidBits AR was born. In 2019 I was cruising Pinterest for my older sisters upcoming birthday and came across a custom tumbler, I have always been obsessed with different cups and designs so instantly I thought this is was the coolest thing! I started researching how to epoxy cups. I watched maybe 4 videos and thought, ”I got this,” boy was I wrong, I did a few practice cups and then started on my sisters cup. There were so many mistakes made and to this day it has never fully cured, she still keeps it on her shelf despite the fact it feels like goo under the epoxy. I tell you this because there will always be mistakes when learning new skills and I am proud of where it has brought me, I never intended to grow a business from this and sometimes life surprises you. I found that I really enjoyed making custom tumblers so I decided on a name and began to grow my business. I have to be honest and tell you that my husband was the only one working so this was a very slow process and it would be 2 1/2 years before it really started to grow into something other than a hobby.

It is now 2022 and we are blessed to say we are continuing to grow and expand at a faster pace than previous years. We have established our “Angel fund” which is the heart of our company, this account was set up to spread random acts of kindness not only to our community but to others around the world. It is our dream to help make a change and every purchase puts us closer and closer to our goals. .

I suppose that wasn’t to bad of a first welcome blog, don’t worry I won’t always bore you with our beginnings, but it does’t hurt to know where someone started. :) I hope you follow along as we figure out this crazy new stage in our business and check out our other upcoming posts for tips on what not to do when working with epoxy and other products. We are on this learning journey together and I cannot wait to see where it takes us.
